Check back for more up-to-date information on ticket prices and location on the grounds of St. Ann Catholic Church of Bartlett.</p> </article> <article> <h1>SPRING IS HAS BEEN A BUSY BLESSING</h1> <p>John — Mon, 26 Apr 2010 16:21:05 +0000</p> <p><a href="http://johnangotti.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/spring.jpg"></a>Since Easter I have been in Iowa for a wonderful confirmation weekend of retreat and hanging with the Arch Bishop. He loves to sing and is a great man. Kim worked hard to make the 4 day venture very successful and moving. Then I was in Canada for a week. Vancouver was wonderful with my host and friend Clay Imoo. From Prison Ministry to Parish Ministry and schools around Vancouver then a wonderful couple of Days in Kelowna with my new friend Kevin and his wife Christine who were great host. The conference was very nice and view was amazing. The objective there was to deepen peoples understanding of the gift we have in the Mass and how it is to be effective. More than just a mere observance of the rules. So often folks in our church are about the rules without a deeper understanding of what they are to do in order to be effective…. to change our hearts for compassion. If we are to follow Jesus what does that mean… it means we are to be radical in our compassion and love for all people. Even those that think differently than us. It’s not about being comfortable. To often it’s about someone’s preference without meeting people where they are, we mandate things based on an opinion which everyone has, instead of reflecting the body of Christ and what does worship look like in heaven. It’s both Bach and Hendrick’s. Now I’m in Ellicott City Maryland doing a parish mission. Great musician in Stephen Lay and my contact Liz Coolahan who gives her whole heart and soul to ministry. Last night was the concert with full band, and tonight and tomorrow is the mission. The objective is to change hearts today so we can change the world for peace tomorrow. Blessings to all you….. I can’t wait to get home and hug on my family for a few days. Miss them something awful. Great response the first two nights. Hoping to catch them on fire with the Spirit to go out on mission. It’s a hard mission but is there another choice? The other choice leaves us empty. So it’s either forgive or not forgive… love or not love… both have consequences.. one leads to life the other doesn’t….. Memphis DYC to New Orleans doing a mission with Fr. Jim Marchionda. This past weekend I was in North Carolina at St. Francis in Raleigh doing a confirmation retreat. We always bring the parents in the last day. It’s amazing how much we grown-ups don’t know about our faith. I love the comment: “uh, I never thought of it like that. hey that makes sense. thanks.” To top it off my alma mater West Virginia University are the Big East Champs. I always talk about how Jesus’ ministry was in the secular world. He didn’t run from it or build up walls to keep others who are different than us out. He faced the challenges and met the people where they are with the message of love and forgiveness. Now it is our turn and this is a great chance for us to do just that.</p> <p><a title="Carnegie 2011 " href="http://johnangotti.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/Carnegie-2011-LAND-Brochure.pdf"> Download the brochure</a>, about singing God’s praises at a Carnegie Hall Concerts in New York City. John Hale or Steve Petrunak will be available for questions and help us figure out this journey. If will be a Spiritual experience and a fun experience. We hope to rehearse at St. Patrick’s Cathedral… there will be dinner’s, sight seeing, and sharing opportunities of faith and the journey. The concert is January 14, 2011. So we will still be in the Christmas Season so there will be Christmas songs too…. The cast and crew with Diane Dolan’s leadership was awesome. The whole weekend pointed us to the Closing Mass which had full active and hopefully conscious participation. I send you out together, can’t do it alone, we need each other to complete the mission of love and compassion for all. </p> <p>This week I am blessed to be working with Fr. Jim Marchionda in New Orleans at the new Divine Mercy Parish Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evening mission. It is a different kind of recording for me because most of it is piano and vocal. So often folks come to me and want the recording of just me and the piano. Well here it is. There are 4 semi produced songs. Which means we did this recording with just the basics. It’s a cool vibe that creates a living room experience. Kind of like “behind the music” on CMT or VH1. If you want to know the back ground of the songs…. come check out our concerts. The players are Dion Clay on Drums and a little rap …. JT Brown on Bass and Background Vocals… he is amazing….. Kelly Jones on Guitar…. technology is great… he did these tracks at his home in West Virginia…. Ed Bolduc produced it, sang on it, and played some keys…. John Carrosa was the engineer and played amazing keys on Go out in the world…. I played keys and did the leads… John’s wife and Karen Bolduc sang some back up on it….. If you are looking for something to rock you out and then sooth your soul… this is it.
